Jimmy Effron

Jimmy Effron is an honors high school student who always goes above and beyond in his work. He is passionate about Spanish, helping others, and learning new things. In early 2021, he and his sister, Sabrina, were connected with the founder of the American English Tree school in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Edizon Rodriguez, who awards underprivileged children scholarships to learn English. Inspired by the work that Edizon was doing, Jimmy and Sabrina started SET. Through the program, they help children from other countries practice their English, while learning about their lives and culture. Beyond his work with SET, Jimmy has been an athlete since age three, when he began his basketball career. Aside from basketball, he also enjoys skiing, golf, and tennis. He has found SET to be very rewarding and is looking for opportunities to expand the program to other cities and countries to help more people.
